The Body Shop Australia

International Women's Day

International Women’s Day 2019 coincided with a special event of 25 years of celebrating female empowerment at The Body Shop Australia (TBS). Off the back end of an international trip to visit rural Ghana to see and learn the origin of fair trade and shea production with Montana and other international representatives, TBS invited her back to participate in a nationwide activation to empower women to pay it forward and say thank you to the inspiring women in their lives.

The activation looked like 3 personalized artworks embodying the messages of female empowerment accompanied by written poetry by Montana as well as an in-store live painting of a 2 x 1.5m artwork in dedication to the Tungteiya Womens Shea Butter Association from their Ghana trip. The celebration was accompanied with a public ‘meet and greet’ which invited Montana’s followers to The Body Shop headquarters at Bourke Street, Melbourne to come down, take a picture and say hello.

The 3 personalized artworks were reinvented into greeting cards and distributed throughout every Body Shop store nationwide for the week of International Women’s Day, seeing tens of thousands sent to women around the world.
